For 25 days of annual leave and employment from July 1 through December 31, 2026, the estimate is 25 × 184 / 365 = 12.6027 days. With 3 days already taken, that leaves 9.6027 days before any optional rounding.
Which annual allowance should I enter?
Use the allowance for your own working pattern. If you work part-time, enter the annual number of leave days that applies to that schedule. The calculator does not adjust it again. Use the same definition of a day for the allowance and leave taken.
How is a partial year calculated?
Each calendar day has the same weight. Both employment dates count, including weekends and holidays. The calculation uses only the overlap with the selected leave year and divides by its actual length, usually 365 or 366 days. This measures the share of the year, not days away from work.
How does rounding work?
No rounding is selected by default. Optional rounding applies once to the pro-rated allowance, before subtracting leave taken. Nearest rounding sends an exact halfway value up. Results display up to four decimal places; the calculation keeps the unrounded value internally.
Is this my legal vacation entitlement?
No. This is a planning calculation. Your contract or local rules may use completed months, different rounding, waiting periods or other conditions. Carry-over, public holidays, unpaid absences and changes in work schedule are not calculated. Check the applicable rules separately.
Can my leave year start outside January?
Yes. Set its start under Leave year & rounding. It ends the day before the same date next year. A February 29 start uses February 28 as the next anniversary. Calculate each leave year separately.
