A UUID, also called a GUID, is an ID used to label an item, such as a record in an app. This tool generates random version 4 UUIDs. The standard format is selected for you; optional formatting changes are under Format options.
Are these UUIDs guaranteed to be unique?
Two UUIDs matching is extremely unlikely, but not impossible. These version 4 UUIDs use the browser’s secure random generator. Apps that require unique IDs should still check for duplicates.
Which format should I use?
The usual representation is 36 characters: hexadecimal digits grouped as 8-4-4-4-12 with hyphens. Uppercase and lowercase represent the same value. Removing hyphens is useful only when your destination accepts the compact form.
How many can I generate?
Generate up to 10,000 per batch to keep copying and rendering the output responsive. There is no daily quota. Each new batch replaces the displayed results, so save the ones you need first.
