Why can counts differ from another app?
Editors can count hyphens, punctuation, and some languages differently. Some apps also count a joined emoji as several characters instead of one. For a strict word or character limit, check the receiving app’s own counter before submitting.
How are lines and paragraphs counted?
Each line break starts a new line, including a trailing empty line. Paragraphs are groups separated by blank lines. An empty input has zero lines and paragraphs.
How is reading time estimated?
Reading time assumes 200 words per minute. Your pace may differ. Text size, shown under More counts, measures UTF-8 bytes rather than visible characters.
File limits
