How to play Number Merge
- Swipe or use the arrow keys to slide every tile. Two equal tiles combine once per move.
- A new tile appears only after the board changes. Leave open spaces so you have room to plan.
- Reach 2048, then keep building larger tiles. Undo lets you try another direction.
A little more room
The 4 × 4 board is compact; 5 × 5 gives you more space. Scores are kept separately. There is no timer limit, and reaching 2048 does not end the game.
When does a game end?
The game ends when no direction can move or combine a tile. Undo remains available, including after the last move. Your board and recent undo history are saved in this browser.
Will my game be saved?
Your current game is saved on this device when browser storage is available. Reopening the page lets you resume it. Clearing site data removes that progress. The timer pauses when you leave the tab; New game replaces your current board.
