How to play Sliding-Number Puzzle
- Put the numbers in order from left to right, top to bottom, with the empty space at the bottom right.
- Tap a tile next to the empty space to slide it. Arrow keys move the empty space; Tab reaches the other controls.
- Restart keeps the same shuffle. New game makes another solvable puzzle.
Start with a row
Try placing the top row first, then the left column, and work inward. Keep completed rows out of the way while you arrange the remaining tiles. The 3 × 3 board is a good place to learn.
Are all shuffles solvable?
Yes. Every generated board is checked for solvability. A larger board gives you more tiles to arrange; there is no move limit. Undo does not reduce the move count, so your result includes every step you took.
Will my game be saved?
Your current game is saved on this device when browser storage is available. Reopening the page lets you resume it. Clearing site data removes that progress. The timer pauses when you leave the tab; New game replaces your current board.
