Use JPG for photos when an app or upload form does not accept WebP; transparent areas become a solid color you choose. Choose PNG to keep transparency and current detail, especially for screenshots and graphics. Dimensions stay the same, but the file may be larger.

Will PNG restore detail lost in the WebP?
No. PNG keeps the detail that remains in the WebP. It cannot restore detail lost earlier.
Will my photo details and colors change?
Photos are turned the right way up. Camera and location details (EXIF metadata) are removed. Original color and print settings are not kept, so colors may change. Keep the original if those details matter.
Which files can I use?
Use still WebP images. Animated images are not supported.
Each image can be up to 25 MB and 24 megapixels, with neither side above 16,384 pixels. Add up to 100 MB at a time. ZIP downloads support up to 64 MB of results; save larger batches individually. These limits help avoid running out of memory.
